$8000 theft charge laid
A man has been arrested in connection with the theft lof more than $BOOO from the Hillsborough Tavern, Port Hills Road, during the holiday period. He was arrested in Auckland on Monday and appeared in the Auckland (Magistrate’s Court yesterday (charged with stealing $8461 las a servant of the Hillsl borough Tavern. He was remanded to appear in the Christchurch Magistrate’s Court later this month. Policemen and accountants ! have worked solidly on the case since the theft was discovered on December 30. It was established that the cash was missing from takings for the Christmas holiday period.
