Fitness tests for cricketer
•Pt z Fra'.f AUCKLAND. Gary Troup, the Auckland left-arm bowler, will have two tests on his injured leg to see if he is fit enough to leave on Wednesday to join Derrick Robins’s international touring cricket side in South Africa Troup will not play for Auckland in the Shell series match against Wellington, starting at Eden Park today, but will have a strenuous workout at the park.
Troup's future has been the subject of all kinds of rumour and conjecture over the last few days. As a precaution, A. B. Jordan, the Central Districts seamer, has been asked to stand bv as a replacement should Troup not be fit. However, specialist treatment and advice in Dunedin has already helped Troup over some of the effects of shin soreness.
