SPECIAL TROPHY
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The owner or owners of next month’s Wellington Trotting Cup winner will hold, for a year, the Wellington Challenge Cup. The challenge cup was prejsented to the Wellington ! Trotting Club by a former [president of the club. Mr D. 11. Macdonald. Standing 19 inches high, the silver, hand- | engraved trophy is worth (about $lOOO. This is the first time in the history of the Wellington club—over 50 years—that a cup has been available for its ’ premier event. The club’s president, Mr :L. J. Lyons, said it was ' hoped that a miniature would /be presented every year to ( go with the challenge cup. A lis2oo trophy, for this year’s ■ I winner, has already been l purchased by the club. il The Wellington Cup will be : lrun at Hutt Park on Tuesday, January 13.
