RESCUE RADIO STOLEN
A radio-telephone set, used in rescue work, has been stolen from the Canterbury Surt Life Saving Association's clubhouse at Sumner. The set. which was valued at about $250. was used to link rhe association's rescue jet boat with the eight surf clubs in Christchurch It was found to he missing Horn the clubhouse on Saturday morning. after thieves had broken a lock on a door Similar sets were stolen from the Waimairi and New Brighton dubs last week, leaving al) three without contact with the rescue boat It is expected to be about four months before th* sets which were insured, can be replaced.
