Wool: no surprises

There were no surprises at today’s Invercargill wool sale, and prices for better style crossbred fleece wools were firm on Wednesday’s Napier sale. However, the same could not be said for poorer styles and these were discounted by buyers and tended to be slightly easier. Crossbred oddments sold in sellers’ favour, and skirtings varied from par to slightly dearer than Napier prices. >

The Wool Marketing Corporation was required only to support the market occasionally, bidding on 1.86 per cent of the offering. Only 48 bales, or 0.23 per cent, was passed to it. The following Is the official range of prices:— CROSSBRED
