Objections to plan
Objections to the Malvern County Council’s district planning scheme would probably be heard next March or April, the County Clerk (Mr B W. Perrin) told a meeting of the council's finance committee. In all. 103 objections were received, 26 of them from property owners at Arthur’s Pass. Seven came from ski clubs and the Canterbury Ski Association and the council itself had one objection covering 28 “corrections” to detail rhe council itself, and individuals, objected that there was no definition of “resortl village” in the scheme. There, has been a proposal to estab-' lish an alpine village at j Castle Hill Most of the Arthur's Pass' objections dealt with what was considered to be in-i appropriate zoning, and one objection on these lines,, lodged by a lawyer, was said! to cover the views of a majority of residents. Mr Pemn said the objec-i tions would be advertised after the holidays, and would 1 be open for inspection and cross-objections before hearings could start.
