TVI drama
An up-and-coming actress, Rita Giovannini, plays what is undoubtedly her most important television role to date in "The Long Lease of Summer,’’ an hour-long drama produced by Cecil Clarke for ATV. She appears with a noted cast of actors, including Isabel Dean, Beatrice Kane, Robert Oakes, Maurice Quick, Carlos Douglas. Lee Montague, and Graham Crowden. John Hup is the man responsible for the unhappiness that hits the (girl, a well-to-do university (Student who has her first sexual experience with him. Playing a kev role as the : young man’s girl-friend is Peter Ustinov's daughter, Tamara. The story, by Ronald Harwood. poses the question of • whether men are interested in the girl for herself or her {money. Wealth brings no happiness to young Sonia, whose disillusionment is not only with herse’f, But with (those around her and also het •separated parents. “The Long Lease of Summer” will be screened on TVI at 1.55 p.m. on Thursday.
