Denial by Unita

The Union for the Total Independence of Angola (Unita) has denied that South African troops have been fighting on its side in the struggle for power in the former Portuguese territory, the Zaire 'news agency, Azap, reported. A Unita communique carried by the agency said that a report in the weekly magazine. “Juene Afrique,” making the allegation was aimed at discrediting Unita before the Organisation of African Unity (0.A.U.). Unita described as “absurd and false” reports that [Zaire troops had also fought ! on its side in Angola.
