Values treble in Heathcote
The capital value of property in Heathcote County has almost trebled in the last five years. From a value of $43.97m, derived from the valuation in November, 1970, the capital value has risen to $125.5m. The Valuation Department said that the basis of the latest valuations had been the analysis of recent comparable sales in the county. The sales had been influenced by the property boom and ever-increasing building costs. Generally, residential properties in the county have had increases similar to those in the recent Christchurch revision.
