The second programme in (“The Philpott File,” a threepart look at the international meat industry, will be on TV2 on Friday night. “The Way of All Flesh” contrasts the traditional ways of marketing and preparing the roast beef of old England with the high-1 pressure organisation behind America’s biggest hamburger chain. Philpott then takes up the hamburger story, the busi-j ness methods behind the fast food operation which is the ( pride of the Chicago-based i McDonald enterprise. Their ■ proud boast is that they can [ serve a family of four in 60 seconds and they can serve I them with an almost identi-1 cal hamburger, chips, apple pie and milkshake meal from Alaska to Florida.
