Former S.S. man denies murders

A witness at the trial of the Austrian watchmaker. Johann Gog], charged with murdering prisoners in a World War II concentration camp, said the accused killed inmates by throwing them against an electric fence. Walter Kehjaus, aged 53. imprisoned in Mathausen concentration camp on racial grounds, said Gogl. aged 51, and another guard killed two men by pushing them against the camp’s electric perimeter fence.

He said Gogl had once stabbed at him with a knife and had to be restrained by other guards. The accused said he had been mistaken for another man and denied having participated in the murders.

Gogl. a former S.S. corporal accused of the “brutal and sadistic” killing of prisoners, was acquitted in 1972 on the charges he now faces but the verdict was declared void after an appeal by the prosecution.
