Holiday photo contest
Remember the highly successful “Holiday Replay” photographic contest last March? “The Press” will again be organising a similar competition in February with prizes worth $l2OO, so be sure to pack your camera and plenty of film before you leave for this season’s holiday. The contest will run for three weeks, with cash prizes of $lO for the best entry published daily from February 12 until March 3. The over-all winner, who
will be announced on March 13, will receive:— Return air travel for two on Mount Cook Airlines between Christchurch and the Bay of Islands with overnight accommodation in Auckland. A T.H.C. Waitangi Hotel “Action Holiday” with five nights accommodation, breakfasts, and a la carte dinners. A free launch trip around the Bay of Islands and a bus excursion to Cape Reinga, the northernmost tip of the North Island.
Free admission to the shipwreck museum and a round of golf on the Waitangi course. A full day at Rotorua with accommodation at the T.H.C. International Hotel on the homeward journey. A cash allowance of $5O for out-of-pocket expenses. A second prize of $lOO will also be awarded. Although all winning entries will be reproduced in black and white, the judges will consider colour
slides and colour prints. Negatives must accompany all prints. More than one entry can be submitted, but each must be attached to a separate entry form. Multiple entries on one form will be disqualified. Pictures should show originality and be of a distinct holiday flavour. Please do not submit entries until the contest opens in February. The winner last year was Mr Reginald Graham, of Christchurch.
