Gaol sentence for Borstal escaper

Arthur William Taylor, aged 19, a Borstal inmate who escaped from Addington Prison by using a ladder, was sentenced in the Magistrates Court yesterday to a total of nine months imprisonment on two charges ol escaping, three of unlawfully taking a vehicle, and a charge of burglary. Mr N. I. Bradford. S.M said that he had no option but to imprison Taylor in order tu protect the public interest How lever, he had made the term as short as he could and if Taylor “behaved himself” he could get a third of it taken off in remission.
