Pancontinental finds gold

Pancontinental Mining, Ltd. has established a commercial gold ore body in its Jabiluka Two uranium deposit in the East Alligator River district of the Northern Territory. At the present world market prices for gold, the value in the ground is about ; sAust33m. i Pancontinental, which I holds a 65 per cent interest [in the Jabiluka prospect, and i Getty Oil. which holds 35 per cent, had outlined 410,000 tonnes of indicated reserves of gold, averaging 16.1 grams a tonne of gold. A further 120,000 tonnes of inferred ore averaging 12.5 grams a tonne had also been outlined, said the chairman of Pancontinental (Mr A. J. Grey). Uranium ore reserves of Jabiluka No. 2 would be increased. but it could not be (estimated at this stage because further drilling was needed. Mr Grey said.
