Higher fees recommended
<N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Increases in training fees have been recommended bv the New (Zealand Trainers’ Association, j Rates are likely to be raised by ias much as 17 per cent according to a statement. released 1 jointly bv Messrs R. J. Wallace and .1. W. Harris, presidents respectively of the Northern and Central District branches of the association. The increases are necessary, they say. to preserve trainers margins against rising costs and inflation generally. They are expected to applv immediately. The effect of the recommendations will be to increase fees from the present basic cost of 842 a week for every horse to about 849 in the Auckland and Waikato areas and to 545 in the lower half of the North Island.
