B.M.W. driver takes series
11 (N.Z. Press Association) ) LEVIN. Fourth place at Levin I) yesterday was good enough for Ken Adamson to win [ the Shell 100 motor-racing I series in his B.M.W. 2002 T.I. Adamson, from Palrn--1 erston North, was over-all | leader before yesterday’s ’ race and drove impeccably ' to retain his lead. The outright winner yesterday was Wayne , Wilkinson (Auckland) in his Torana XU-1, who led
the Chevrolet Carnaro of Dave Baker (Christchurch) for most of the race. Adamson won Class Two of the series as well as the over-all prize and Class One was won by Gary Sprague (Timaru), who did not finish in the first 10 yesterday. Class Three was won by Sue Adams (Auckland) in a Morris Cooper S. This is believed to be the first time a woman has won a motor-racing series in New Zealand.
