It is a residential in-service training centre for teachers. The centre is in Christchurch, near the Carlton Mill Bridge. It shares with Frank Lopdell House, Auckland, the conducting of the Depart ment’s national and regional courses and is in operation 48 weeks a year. Qualifications desired: The position calls for exceptional qualities of personality and wide educational experience and interest. Duties: To maintain general supervision of the in-service training centre staff. The major function will be to ensure that each training course runs smoothly and efficiently from both educational and administrative points of view. Each training course for teachers will have its own professional director with whom the Warden will work as a consultant. Conditions: The appointment will be for 2 years. The position is suitable for a retired person (male or female) and hours of work will be flexible, although full-time attendance at some courses will be necessary. The appointee, if married, would need to have his own accommodation in Christchurch. A furnished bed-sitting room will be provided at the centre for full-time occupation by a single person or part-time occupation by a married man with his own accommodation.
