Marchers will go to Govt House
(N’.Z. Press Association) WANGANUI. October 3. The Maori land marchers will march on Government House if, as was announced today by the Prime Minister (Mr Rowling), Parliament closes next Friday — one day before their newly scheduled arrival in Wellington. The leader of the march, Mrs Whina Cooper, said this just before the march resumed at Wanganui this afternoon. To a question, Mrs Cooper said the march would not be speeded up in an attempt to reach Wellington before Parliament closed. She also refused to discuss Mr Rowling’s tele- . grammed advice that the I marchers would be met on ’the steps of Parliament Buildings by the four Maori M.P.s and others. She has. how-
’ ever, asked that the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Muldoon) be present.
