Horror murders in ‘blue’ films

NEW YORK, October 2.
Hard-core pornography in America, which has been brought out from the underground by relaxed film censorship in recent years, is said to have found a new twist to make private screenings of “blue” films costly and rare again: real murder filmed immediately after the sex act, Agence FrancePresse reports.
Local police forces and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are now investigating reports that colour films of the ultimate in sadism, the carefully-filmed murder, are being imported into the United States from Argentina or other South American countries.
Argentina once supplied most of the world’s pornographic films in the early, pre-W’orld War One pioneering days of the cinema. A New York policeman, Detective Joseph Horman, last night described the latest evolution of pornography as “the ultimate obscenity,” and quoted “trustworthy sources” saying that such films had been shown in New Orleans, Miami, Los Angeles, and New York for more than a month.
“The going price of a ticket to the highly illegal showings of such movies is 8200.” .he said. “The films themselves are offered for sale at 81500 apiece.” Mr Horman emphasised that no detective had yet seen the films, and that even if they could be found, it would be difficult to prosecute the producers, who would claim that the murders had been effectively staged.
“One film describes an orgy, after which the only woman involved was stabbed to death and dismembered,” he said. “The actress had no idea that she would be killed, and was filmed as the realisation, and its incumbent horror, swept her face. “The thing that is reallv astonishing.” Mr Horman said, “is that there is such a market. That’s almost as lastonishing as the fact that
somebody would actually commit a murder for the purpose of making a film. “Based on the price, I would imagine that the people who purchase these things have affluent backgrounds.”
The Associated Press reports that the Los Angeles Police Department says it investigated the story six months ago, and found that it was “not true at all.”
