A new low for sterling
Sterling fell to a new Iqwi of 5U52.2750 on Wednesday/ but later recovered to i 82.0405. The Bank of England’s index of sterling’s depreciation against other currencies over the past four year period, reached 29.4 per cent, from 28.7 per cent last night. Sterling’s previous record low was 29.2 per cent last July.
There has been no confirmation of rumours that Arab oil investors were transferring funds from sterling into 1 other currencies.
