GREYMOUTH TRACK
Good surface expected “The track should provide the best racing surface for years,” said an official of the ’ Grevmouth Trotting Club at the week-end when i referring to the club s forth ■ coming meeting on October 120 ana 22. This was confirmed by the Templeton trainer, Derek Jones, who was a member of a delegation from the New Zealand Horsemen’s Association to inspect the track i recently. ■ Several hundred yards of material have been spread on the track to replace that lost in the storms which have ravaged the district in recent months. This is the first step in the complete reconstruction of the track surface, a project estimated to cost $40,000. It is expected that the latest lot of material will have consolidated in plenty of time for the club’s spring meeting.
