Farewell to Fergie
Fergie McCormick will bow out of big Rugby in a special match at the scene of many of his triumphs, Lancaster Park, on March 28, next year. His club, Linwood, intends to hold the game as a tribute to the services the record-scoring full-back has given to Rugby in an 18-year first-class career. The game will be between “Fergie McCormick’s Farewell XV” and the 1975 New Zealand Maori team, which will play as the Cantabrians.
