Water polo squad

A 16-year-old, Matt Lewis, has been named in the Canterbury senior water polo squad from which the team to play a tournament at Labour Day week-end will be selected.

Lewis, captain of the Canterbury secondary schoolboy team, was also in the national schoolboy side. Greg Harding, who was a reserve for that national side, is also in the squad, probably as the reserve goalie. He will be 17 in less than two weeks. Another interesting selection is that of Mark Trembath, a New Zealand representative backstroke swimmer who retired from that sport earlier this year.

The squad, without three of last year’s top seven, is:— S. A. Johnston (University), G. W. Campbell, R. A. Clark, T. M. McGirr, Trembath, Lewis, P. R. Tweedie (Wharenui), B. M. Mustchin, D. J. W. Reid, M. A. and G. J. Harding, J. A. Symon, M. G. Davie, L. M. Scott and C. r> Robinson (Beckenham-Sock-bum).
