Broadlands soccer at week-end
A change of dates for the remaining matches of the title contenders now means that the Broadlands Southern League soccer championship will be decided by this week-end.
Rangers, the league leaders, are involved in two vital games. Their postponed fixture against Technical will now be played at English Park this evening. On Sunday, Rangers and their strongest rival, Dunedin City, will meet in the curtain-raiser to the New Brighton-Mount Wellington clash at Queen Elizabeth II Park.
This match was scheduled for Saturday afternoon when the Lion Chatham Cup final will be televised live, Also, there has been a change of ground for Brighton’s match with Gisborne City on Saturday, September 20. It will now be played at English Park, on the same ground where Christchurch United will meet Stop Out on the next day. However, both of these games will be affected if the Lion Chatham Cup final between United and Blockhouse Bay on Saturday is drawn. The replay has been set down for English Park on September 20.
