Holes-in-one at 'Old Nick’
A Christchurch Golf Club member, Bill Clarkson, holed his tee shot at one of Shirley’s bestknown holes on Thursday. This was at “Old Nick,” the thirteenth hole abandoned a year or two ago, but now in play again while two other holes recover from storm damage.
On Friday, Jack Lacey, a member of the Paraparaumu Beach team preparing for its Kelliher Trophy challenge against Christchurch, holed in one at the same hole.
And on Saturday, while club members played their competition in the wake of the trophy teams, Rex Blunden made it three in a row — a hole in one at the third.
