RHODESIA WITHDRAWS
(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) LONDON. Rhodesia has withdrawn from its Davis Cup match With Ireland. Mr Basil Reay, secretary of the International Lawn Tennis Federation, has received a cablegram from Rhodesia stating that it was withdrawing from’' its cup match against (reland “to ensure satisfactory competition for all nations.” Ireland will now meet Egypt in the third round. The withdrawal of Rhodesia comes after the refusal of the Irish Government to allow the match to be played in Ireland.
