Fairy tales updated
The 8.8.C.’s Jackanory Playhouse has produced six fairy tales for children told in a modern style. They feature some of television’s best-known actors — people like Maurice Denholm, Dandy Nicholls and Joan [Sims. The first of these is “The Wednesday Wand”. It’s the story of Fairy Sycamore (Joan Sims) whose wand continually makes mistakes and causes her no end of trouble. “The Wednesday Wand” screens on TVI at 3.45 p.m.
