I senior I laboratory technician I republic of nauru central pacific The general hospital on Nauru requires the services of an experienced technician to assume responsibility for the medical laboratory. j_ The technician will report to the Director of Medical Services for a wide and interesting range of duties, including:(a> the provision of bacteriological, haematological, biochemical and other laboratory services; (b) maintaining the laboratory on a functional basis and organis- i ing new services as required; (c) the provision of in-service training for existing technicians; (d) the provision of public health laboratory services including the i biological and chemical analysis of water; (e) advising on laboratory services for the new hospital currently in the planning stages. The laboratory is well equipped and includes Turner Spectrophotometer, EEL Clinical Flame Photometer, modern Wild Microscopy equipment. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should hold at least Associate status in the Institute of Laboratory Technologists or equivalent standing Hi and have had several years practical experience in a medical laboratory including work on Haematology, Bacteriology, Serology, Biochemistry and Parasitology. Experience in a tropical situation would be advant- 9| l ageous.
