The Christchurch Drainage Board states: Extensive modifications are being planned for the Bromley Sewage Treatment Works and about April-May next year it will be necessary to take one of the existing stone media filters out of operation while ; a new tower filter is being constructed. This will mean a • temporary reduction in plant oxidation capacity and the need to by-pass substantial ' primary effluent direct to the oxidation ponds.
