Seminars on women
The Christchurch Technical Institute will hold two seminars on September 10 to mark International Women’s Year. The morning seminar on “Women in men’s jobs” will be specifically for schoolgirls. It will look at trades and technical skills that have previously attracted only men but from which women need not be excluded.
The evening seminar will be on "Women and the parttime employment problem.” Representatives of the nursing and teaching professions and office and factory workers will speak at the seminar. A video tape on the problems facing women in employment will also be shown. The morning session will begin at 9 a.m. and the evening one at 8 p.m. Further information can be obtained from the Technical Institute, telephone 68-319.
