j scribes the two weeks otmusic making, when execu-; ‘rant musicians and observers! .gather at St Peters School, Cambridge, each January. For twenty-five years, Ronald Deljlow, senior lecturer in music iat the Centre for Continuing! ! Education in the University ol I Auckland, has been associated ‘ with the School — as a student, a tutor, and for a jnumber of years as its Director. Cambridge ’76 will be held from December 29, 1975, to January 11, 1976, and has a 'tutorial panel of intemationjally known musicians — John ; Hopkins (orchestra), Peter I Godfrey (choral), Janetta McStay (piano), Gillian Whitehead (composition). John Rimmer (electronic composition). Steve Rosenberg and Robert Oliver (consort music), Anthony Jennings (harpsichord and organ), David Naldenj (violin). Philip Clark (viola),: Farquhar Wilkinson (cello),, Ken Wilson and David' Thomas (woodwind), Rossi McGavin (brass). In addition,: Cambridge ’76 will be visited! by Alfredo Campoli, virtuoso! violinist, who will conduct! violin master classes. During the fourteen days,' a considerable amount of music is rehearsed and per-i formed, and two public con-1 certs in the Cambridge Town Hall have become a special feature of the School, giving! concert-goers an opportunity! to hear what has been I achieved by tutors and stud-' ents in the short space of two. weeks. An open day on Sun-: day. January 4, 1976, will allow visitors to see a music; school at work. The School has become a national, annual event for! musicians and observers, who! can enjoy music making’ under ideal conditions at St Peters School, where they may choose to live in, camp in, the grounds or live out. • Cambridge ’76 is organised and administered by the Centre for Continuing Educa-. tion in the University of' Auckland. —Advt.
