Civilians for Mount John
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 28. The United States Government is withdrawing its military staff at the Baker-Nunn tracking station on Mount John. South Canterbury, and replacing them with civilians. The nublic affairs officer at the United States Embassy in Wellington (Mr K. D. Koch) said tonight that the United States was in the process of making the change and was “working out the details with the New Zealand Government.” He said the civilian staff would come from a contract-. ing agency, which, he be-! lieved, would be an aerospace; company. Asked about the reason fori the change, Mr Koch said, “It is cheaner to do it this way.”'
