Selective aid

The chairman of the Wool Board, Mr J. Clarke, is not a supporter of across-the-board assistance for farmers. He told the electoral committee of the board last week that he personally favoured selective measures for fanners in those districts where the difficulties were greatest. “Assistance to those who do not need it tends to raise the costs of those who do,” he added.
