PHONES BRANCH MOVES

From next Monday, people making inquiries about telephone service will get attention at the Post Office’s new quarters on the second floor of the A.M.P. Society’s building in Cathedral Square, The entire telephoneservices branch, with a staff of more than 100. will move to the new building at the week-end. The purpose of the move is to house all sections of the branch together to enable better service.

The Chief Postmaster (Mr J. S. Smith) said the transfer from the Chief Post Office would ease the very tight accommodation of the postal-services branch. The new facilities at the A.M.P. would provide more privacy for the public when making, inquiries about telephones.
