CORONER’S COURT Boy found in 3ft pool

A young mother found her two-year-old son lying face down in a pool of water on an excavation site at Woodlands Place, Aranui. The boy later died in hospital the , Christchurch District Coroner (Mr E. B. E. Taylor) was told in the Coroner’s Court yesterday. Duane Brian Bailey, of Tralee Place, Aranui was; found to have died of confluent bronchio-pneu-i mortia on July 26, 1974, Mrs Aileen Fay Bailey i told the court that she found' her son lying in three feet of water. After a neighbour gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation the child i seemed to ‘‘come around.” Dr G. H. Johnson said the! child was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital at 1 11.20 a.m. on July 24 and died on July 26. ‘ ; MULTIPLE INJURIES Peter Francis Guthrie Ainsworth, aged 22, was found to have- died from bronchio-pneumonia and

multiple injuries on Febru-i ary 26. The multiple injuries were caused by a collision between the motor-cycle he, was riding and a car on the main highway to Leeston : near Springston, the Coroner, said. GAS POISONING • Steven Brown McGrath, aged 51, was found to have died of carbon monoxide poisoning during the evening of June 1. Constable B. A.
