Man ‘died’ after meal
(N.Z. Press Association) ! AUCKLAND, August 27. A man who left an Auckland restaurant without pay-, 'ing his bill pretended to be jdead when a pursuing waitress caught up with him, [Sergeant M. P. Caldwell said: [in the Auckland Magistrate’sI Court yesterday. He said that Robin James Wilson, aged 33, unemployed .employment agent, lay down [on the footpath, closed his |eyes, and failed to respond to 'police who were called to the scene. He was then carried' [to a police car and taken to [the Central Police Station. [But his “death” was shortI lived. ! Wilson suddenly came to [life and began to scream and fight. He was arrested, and ; charged, but would answer no I questions. He appeared to (have been drinking. When searched, Wilson had' only $4 in his possession. His 'meal account was $7.55. Wilson admitted the charge jof credit by fraud on August--18. and was convicted, and' remanded in custody by Mr B. [H. Blackwood. S.M.. until! iTue'sdav.
