Fire safety laws

The Government would I gazette by-laws on fire safety •within a week or so because : of the failure of some local ' authorities to adopt the by- ■ laws, the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr May) I said today. | Speaking at the Institution lof Fire Engineers’ confer- '' ence, Mr May said that 49 ' local authorities had still not taken action to adopt the by--laws or completed action. Legislation was brought down by the previous. Gov- [ eminent requiring all local authorities to have by-laws . approved by the Minister by ithe end of March, 1973.
