The agreement. reached after talks which started late in June and ended last Friday between the printing trades union, and representatives of the newspaper and commercial printing industries. maintains the traditional relativities between printers and other skilled artisan trades. The top rate classification is set at 40 per cent above the general hand’s rate ($103.04) A departure is the establishment of 19 as the adult age in the new award, and the service pay on attaining kiumeyman oi adult status has been set at $2.05 a week An important new pro- . vision is an allowance of $2 [ a week for day workers em- ' ployed on forward rotating ' rosters, for example the fiveday week agreement for newspaper workers.
