Rotary racing debut
» Suzuki’s revolutionary ' rotary-engined motors cycle has made its racing ? debut in America — with J a New' Zealander in the {saddle. The RE-5, intro- * duced to the world market ? earlier this year, notched sup a commendable third 2 place over all in its first ! competitive outing.
The New Zealander, Peter Stark, now a California resident, took his RE-5 through to line honours in the 500 c.c. production class race at the recent Riverside International Raceway meeting in California. Riding a steady race. Stark piloted the big rotary with ease around the circuit to become the first man in the world to race the two-wheeler, which has been heralded as the vanguard of the bikes of the future.
