Bread price unchanged
WELLINGTON, August 27. There was no question of an immediate increase in the price of bread after the announcement of a new price for milled wheat, the Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Freer) said today. The Minister said that the new price* applied to the coming wheat season, and would not be paid until February. There would then be a lapse of one or two months until the new price would have to be met bv bread manufacturers. Mr Freer would not say if subsidies on bread would be reviewed before then.
