[while, refused to accept the resignation of the Armv I commander. General Abcrto 'Numa Laplane, who has been i accused by several colleagues [of allowing the Army to become too involved in politics. More than 1300 troops in battle gear were on guard in and around the capital. Thev moved into the city centre late last night to protect Government House and Armv headquarters, w’hile others took up positions at the Presidential Palace in the suburb of Olivos, 10 miles north of Buenos Aires.
