Karitane ball needs support
The Karitane Nurses’ Bureau is having difficulty in selling tickets to its ball on Friday evening. The ball is to raise funds to buy a minibus made necessary by extensions to the Karitane nurses’ duties.
So far, 300 tickets have been sold, which will cover the cost of the ball. The bureau hoped to sell 500, which would help in raising the $3OOO needed for the van, the cost of which would be subsidised by the Government.
Nurses have also been washing cars at the Karitane Hospital to raise funds.
