Minister told to answer
i.V.Z. Press Association > | WELLINGTON. The Deputy-Speaker of the I House of Representatives) (Mr Hunt) ordered the. Government to tell the Opposition how much money! had been made available i from the New Zealand! Superannuation Fund forj house mortgages. The Minister of Housing (Mr Douglas) had said that the answer to a question posed by Mr G. F. Gair (Nat., North Shore) would be available in the annual report of the Superannuation' Corporation next March, When Opposition members objected to this answer, saying the information was available but had not been given, xMr Hunt, who was in the Chair at the time, ruled that Mr Douglas answer the question more fully. Mr Douglas, however, said he did not have the information with him. A significant portion of the Superannuation Fund had been placed in housing mortgages, but he did not have the amount.
Mr Hunt then directed that the question be transferred to next sitting day so that an answer could be given.
