Jaycees to celebrate anniversary
"Jaycee Week 1975,” organised by the South Christchurch Jaycee Chapter to celebrate its tenth anniversary, will be held from August 30 to September 5. Several meetings and displays have been arranged. On September 2. the General Election candidates for Sydenham will speak and answer questions at a public meeting. They are Messrs John Kirk (Labour), Andy Lea (Values), Paul Matheson (National), and Joe Pounsford (Social Credit). An open chapter night has been planned for September 3. Special guests will be the city councillors representing the South ward, and the meeting will be open to the public. Displays will be held over three weeks from August 25. to give the public an opportunity to see some of the work done by Jaycees and the involvement of the chapter in the community.
