Turks buy N.Z. wool
<X ZP A Staff Crspdt) LONDON Turkey, which is establishing a carpet-making industry, might buy up to two million kilograms of New Zealand wool a year within a few years, according to the International Wool Secretariat in London. Imports of New Zealand wool had doubled this year to 300,000 kilograms, and would reach 800.000 kg in 1976. the I.W.S. said. Turkey has traditionally produced hand-made carpets and rugs using home-grown wool, but is setting up mills as part of an industrialisation drive.
