Worthy Light should complete hat-trick

("The Press" Special Service) AUCKLAND.

The bid by Worthy Light to complete a hat-trick of wins when he runs in the Cambridge Trotting Cup and so maintain his unbeaten record this season will be a feature of the Cambridge Trotting Club's meeting tonight. There seems no doubt he will be a strong favourite.

Worthy Light’s wins at Alexandra Park earlier in the month were so impressive that it seems I certain he will graduate from |C4 to a very tight mark.

1 For both of his wins he settled j at the rear after starting from the unruly position and then came at a tremendous rate to score decisively. The opposition this time is a good deal stronger; also, being still on the unruly list, he has to give several Co horses a start In his favour, though, is the; smallness of the field. It is un-i Ilikelv that he will have to cover! 1 as much ground as usual. A! i slow track, which is possible after Yesterday’s rain, will suit ' ,(him Most opposition may come

■ from Royal York and Bella’s i Prince. Bella's Prince was fourth in each of his starts at Alexandra Park recently, when he did not (relish the soft going. The Borough Trot the second leg of the T.A.B. double, is not!table for the presence in the (field of the talented Cambridge five-year-old, Diogenes. No trotter in the looser classes last season made a bigger impression than Diogenes, and as long as he gets under way reasonably well, be should be a great prospect. He showed lie was well forward when he won at a matinee at Cambridge about a fortnight ago. Colonel Merrett and Beau Joy should be his main rivals.
