Trout farming
Sir.—The decisions by the Salmon Anglers’ Association to embark on commercialsing the salmon fishery, while the North Canterbury < Acclimatisation Society is; intending to support trout i
farming and allow private individuals to begin trout farm production, are moves which fly in the face of opinion of the country’s: outdoor sporting public. It is to be hoped the Labour Government does not forget its promise of no trout farming and that the Salmon Anglers’ Association reconsiders its naive decision, while the Acclimatisation Society remembers its duty to the outdoor sporting . public, not only of today, but' tomorrow also. —Yours, etc., 1 T. ORMAN. July 23, 1975.
