Te Awamutu rider wins horse trials
j’ Zealand Press Association) TIMARU. Kathy Otto, of Te Awamutu, riding her horse, York, won the Forest Gate trophy at Otaio, South Canterbury, on Sunday, the major event of the most testing of one-day horse trials in New Zealand.

West, of Rangiora, on Dusky Bay, was third. Like the two other events held at the horse trials, the Forest Gate trophy consisted of : three sections — dressage, cross-country, and show jumping. In the Waikato trophy, William . Reud. on Vladivostock, was : I first. Elizabeth Fenemour /(Nelson), on Carnaughliss Bay. .1 was second, and Gary Trusttum : (Waimate), on Gemini. was ■ I third. In the novice trial.. Miss G. IDerham (Leeston) on Black Bess , was first. Lvn Inglis (Nelson), on .: Galliano, was second, and Miss V. Willis (Christchurch), on .’Sierra, was third. The ground was firm for the ■ large entry of more than 70 riders in this section.
