having agreed to form a single Angolan army in a move designed to stop the fighting among their armed forces. News that the three leaders — Mr Holden Roberto, of the National Front for the Liberation of Angola, Dr Agostinho Neto, of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Angola, and Dr Jonas Savimbi, of the National Union for the Total Liberation of Angola — had agreed on the integration of their “liberation” armies came in a joint communique last night. The decision is considered possibly the most important taken since the summit began on Monday in an effort to stop factional bloodshed in the territory. Conference sources say
they believe that the three leaders will conclude their ; substantive negotiations in President Jomo Kenyatta’s residence today, and hold a final formal session on i Saturday. All three delegations appear to be optimistic about the outcome of the conference. Mr Roberto yesterday told the press that there would be no delay in Angolan independence day — set for No- j vember 11.
