Police task force
Sir, — I read with interest! the Press Association report! in “The Press” where the; Auckland branch of the New; Zealand Police Association’ has extended a "warm invitation” to Mr Rata to be guest speaker at its annual meeting on July 2. Let us hope that Mr Rata makes puolic whether he can attend as I am certain that his attendance would be wel-i coined at several other! 'Police Association district! . meetings and I am sure that | (districts would only be too’ ’ willing to reschedule their! ! meetings to accommodate .him. The paramount ques-i I tions to Mr Rata would un-: ! doubtedly be. (1) Why has! has he changed his mind! about task forces when her .formerly supported them?;: ! (2) On what evidence does he base his statement “evenl' i members of the task force!' Ido not want, to work in it?[ ! —Yours, etc., BRASSED OFF COPPER. June 13, 1975.
